Cable Economisers

Line economisers are designed to increase the number of spare high-speed data lines available in existing Cat3, Cat5 and Cat5e structured cabling systems without the need for expensive new cable runs. Traditionally networks use 8 core cable (4 twisted pair) of which four are used and four are spare. Cable Economisers utilise the spare four cores, effectively the fully wired economisers, to be used in pairs one at each end of the run, allow Cat.5E data and voice signals to be divided.

The Cable Economisers must be used in pairs. One economiser is plugged directly into a wall outlet and the other at the end of the run into the patch panel, one cable run of 4 twisted pair cable can be used to transmit either two sets of data, voice or single data and voice signals.

- Economisers use existing wiring by splitting signal into two sets of twisted pair - saving the installation of additional cable runs
- Shielded or unshielded versions are available
